Warner Music France Launches LGBTQI+ Music Competition for Pride Month
To celebrate Pride Month, Warner Music France has unveiled the inaugural edition of Outloud—a groundbreaking national music competition designed to amplify voices from the LGBTQI+ community. In partnership with leading queer publication têtu·, the contest is open for submissions until August 31, 2025. The winner will receive a highly sought-after publishing deal from Warner Music, the iconic label behind global stars like Charli XCX, Kehlani, and Madonna.
Expert Jury and Multi-Phase Selection Process
A diverse and influential jury has been assembled to review contestant submissions. The panel includes celebrated Superbus lead singer and songwriter Jenn Ayache; rapper and drag performer Piche; Didier Varrod of Radio France; digital media tastemakers Popslay and Khal Ali; and respected queer electro artist DJ Cheetah.
The selection process will take place across multiple stages. A shortlist of 20 semi-finalists will perform live in mid-October at Warner Music’s headquarters in Paris. From this group, four finalists will be chosen by the jury, with a fifth spot awarded through public voting on the official Outloud website. The grand finale will be held in late November 2025, in front of an audience of 400 music lovers, industry professionals, and allies.
Submission Guidelines for Aspiring Artists
Artists interested in entering must submit their applications via the official Outloud platform no later than August 31. Each application must include a short biography, three original songs, a live performance clip from a past show, and a personal statement explaining the artist’s involvement and connection with the LGBTQI+ community.
Fostering Inclusion and Artistic Growth
Outloud is more than just a music contest—it’s a powerful cultural initiative spotlighting queer creativity in a mainstream music space that often overlooks it. Warner Music emphasizes their commitment to the selected artist’s long-term development, providing access to professional mentorship, recording studios and equipment, and a broad network of industry professionals and brand partners.
Documentary to Highlight Queer Artistic Impact
An exclusive documentary capturing the emotional and creative journey of the competition’s participants is set to premiere in January 2026. The final event will offer more than performances—it will also host dynamic panel discussions focused on LGBTQI+ representation, equity, and visibility in today’s music industry.
Outloud stands as a bold and transformative platform of self-expression, recognition, and empowerment for LGBTQI+ musicians. If your voice deserves to be heard, now is the time to step into the spotlight. Raise your voice and let your music be heard.
